2018 Inclusiveness@Work Individual Nominee: Adrienne Mansanares
Ms. Adrienne Mansanares epitomizes commitment, dedication and an authentic desire to make a difference in addressing inclusiveness and racial equity in our community.
In the early stages of her career, Adrienne organized neighborhood and community forums in diverse and low income communities at the Community Resource Center. As manager of The Denver Foundation’s Inclusiveness Project, she was responsible for leading and managing a 10 initiative collaborative enterprise designed to engage metro Denver nonprofit organizations in becoming more inclusive of people of color.
Adrienne’s hard work resulted in a new position, Director of Community Leadership, where she worked with partners and allies to assist the Metro Denver nonprofit sector to further advance their inclusiveness initiatives. She organized trainings and workshops that increased the capacity of nonprofit organizations to develop and implement their inclusiveness strategy. Adrienne increased the pipeline of people of color connecting with the nonprofit sector, developed giving circles and provided philanthropic education for donors of color. While at The Denver Foundation, Adrienne managed a nationally-recognized program increasing leadership of people of color in nonprofits, involving $1 million in grantmaking and community action strategies.
Today, Adrienne is Chief Experience Officer of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains where she builds collaborations and strengthens partnerships with nonprofits, corporations, foundations, individual donors and community leaders across Colorado.
In addition to her work, Adrienne is deeply committed to and involved with diverse local community organizations. Adrienne is a board member of The Women’s Foundation of Colorado, former board chair of Community Shares of Colorado, and former board member of the Denver Young Nonprofit Professionals. She is the co-founder of Colorado Funders for Inclusiveness and Equity and is a fellow with the Latino Leadership Institute. Because of her personal and professional efforts, she was honored with the 2014 Mayor’s Diversity Award
