Living Expenses Scholarship
The Center for Legal Inclusiveness recognizes the challenges facing law students as they prepare to take the Colorado Bar Examination, particularly those who do not have the economic resources necessary to focus solely on test preparation. The goal of this scholarship is to allow selected recipients to, rather than worry about living expenses, focus on succeeding on the bar exam. The scholarship is $1,500.

The Center for Legal Inclusiveness, Colorado Pledge to Diversity Legal Group and Association of Corporate Counsel-Colorado Chapter partner with Kaplan Bar Review to provide scholarships for the Colorado Bar Exam. The scholarship covers the cost of a Kaplan PMBR course (Live Professor or Video-On Site) and the application fee for the Colorado Bar Examination.
I don’t think I would’ve made it through the summer without this [scholarship],” said Andres Murguia. In May, Murguia graduated from the University of Colorado Law School where he was Class of 2016 President. He received CLI’s Bar Exam Scholarship which helped him take the bar exam in July. “I’m really thankful for this opportunity,” he said.
“This scholarship helped me by not having to worry about costs so much, so I could focus on studying,” he said. “There are a group of people in law school who are constantly struggling with the [the financial aspects of law school]. I didn’t have a lot of resources. This scholarship was a huge weight off my shoulders.”
“Having an opportunity for a scholarship makes it feasible to continue doing what I’m doing,” she said. “The ability to get practical experience – from indictment to sentencing – is huge especially as a student.”
