Congratulations to our 10th Anniversary Honorees

o   Wiley Daniel

  • Strong force in the creation and continued presence of CLI
  • His passion and drive for a diverse legal community makes an impact even today

o   David Getches, represented by Ann Getches and Beto Juarez

  • Under David and Beto, they recognized the need for diversity in the Denver legal community – for both attorneys and law students
  • Using their influence, they rallied concerned citizens to work on this pressing need to have a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.  They did this by creating/hosting the Dean’s Diversity Council, providing their expertise in the formation of CCIE/CLI and being some of CLI’s biggest supporters.
  • Although we lost David on July 5, 2011, we were please to have his wife, Ann Getches accept on his behalf.

o   Patty Powell

  • Developed the law schools’ Inclusive Excellence Leadership Series
  • Assisted with CLI’s Inclusiveness Network
  • Compiled a comprehensive list of diversity and inclusiveness resources
  • Authored the chapter on law school inclusiveness

o   Dean Heizer

  • Instrumental in the formation of CLI

o   Kathleen Nalty

  • Founding executive director for over six years
  • Instrumental in the foundation of CLI, the Manual and the Inclusiveness Network

o   Arin Reeves

  • Shared her expertise in developing the manual and strategic guidance of the Inclusiveness Network
  • Contributed significant original material to the manual based on her research and extensive experience with hundreds of legal organizations and attorneys across the country

o   Jesús Treviño

  • Gave expert advice and assistance in the creation of CLI and its inclusiveness manual and program

o   Caroline Turner

  • Contributed material to the manual
  • Presented at many of our educational programming

o   The Denver Foundation

  • Were instrumental with the formation of CLI’s Manual
  • Permitted a license for CLI to adapt their work – “Inclusiveness at Work, How to Build Inclusive Nonprofit Organization” – for the legal sector

  • Helped set up the organization, find both members and board members
  • Is now Executive Director and Chief Legal Strategist at LivWell Enlightened Health

o   Jennifer Weddle: 2010-2012

  • Another driving force in the creation and getting CLI noticed both nationally and locally
  • Shareholder with Greenberg Traurig and co-chair of the firm’s American Indian Law Practice

o   Jim Pinto: 2012-2014

  • Instrumental with copyright/trademark protections of both the manual and CLI
  • Founder of Red Rocks Law, LLC

o   David Fine: 2014-2015

  • Continued the efforts of bringing new members to CLI
  • Was instrumental in finding CLI’s current home
  • Partner with Holland & Knight

o   Meshach Rhoades: 2015-2016

  • Driving force behind our soon-to-be Advisory Council comprised of former board members
  • Partner with Armstrong Teasdale

o   Skip Gray: 2016-2017

  • Instrumental in the evaluation/review of CLI and potential revisions
  • Assistant City Attorney for the City and County of Denver

Host Firms

Board Members :

  • Without the help of our board members, CLI would not have accomplished as much as it has over the past 10 years – including the Summit, our Manual, the Inclusiveness Network and the plain-hard work of running a nonprofit.
  • CLI has been blessed to have 69 individuals passionate about, and committed to, CLI’s mission of advancing diversity and inclusion in our legal community.
  • Those 69 members include deans of the two law schools, judges, GCs of major corporations, managing partners of law firms and attorneys as well as staff – each willing to give up their time to move CLI forward.
