Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie is seeking a Director of Communications for our Phoenix office to oversee the firm’s marketing communications strategy.  Our firm is an Am Law 200 law firm that provides a wide range of legal services in the areas of intellectual property, litigation, business transactions, regulatory and government relations.
Summary:
Reporting to the firm’s Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer and working closely with the Business Development Directors and Events Director, the successful candidate will help develop and implement a marketing communication and brand strategy that supports the firm’s direction and helps manage communications team members to drive results.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are limited to the following:
  • Direction and management of all internal and external communications related programs for firm, practice groups, industries and offices; provide expert positioning strategies for individual attorneys
  • Working closely with outside PR counsel, developing and setting strategy for PR programs including media relations, expert positioning and other public relations activities
  • Direction and management of all online communications, including website, social media, search and other web-based communications activities
  • Developing and maintaining voice and tone of firm-branded collateral and advertising
  • Creating process for maintaining strong and consistent key messaging across all communications platforms including website, social media, marketing communications collateral as well as internal firm communications that support the business development function
  • Manage the marketing communications team, providing guidance and support
Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business is required; master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in legal or professional services marketing
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing marketing communication teams
  • Strong corporate communications background
  • Ability to drive and motivate attorneys and staff with strong client service mentality
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications with outgoing and engaging personality
  • Team-oriented and willingness to “dig in” when needed
  • Experience in managing a team with understanding of organizational and team effectiveness
  • Ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze legal issues to develop communications strategies
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in online communications strategy and execution
