Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie is seeking an experienced HR support professional for our Phoenix, Arizona office.  Our firm is an Am Law 200 law firm that provides a wide range of legal services in the areas of intellectual property, litigation, business transactions, regulatory and government relations.  This position does not require previous experience in the legal industry.  This position became available as a result of an internal transfer.
Summary:
This role is primarily engaged in the completion of compensation surveys, diversity surveys, internal and external reporting, HR system administration, compliance processes, audits, and analysis.  This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Director of HRIS, Payroll, and Compliance but will work closely with the CHRO, HR Specialist, and professionals outside the team.  Our HR team is proud to be a high-performance supportive and congenial group of professionals all working together in support of the firm’s goals and initiatives.  We centrally support ten offices in five states for approximately 600 employees and partners.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Compile data to facilitate completion of a variety of surveys including compensation, benefits, and diversity surveys using HRIS reporting and by requesting information from other departments
  • Respond to report requests from managers, executives, committee chairs, team members, and other departments providing “white-glove” service; compile and distribute regular management reports
  • Compile and audit data for annual EEO, Vets, and Affirmative Action Plan reports
  • Maintain information in various HR systems, update tables or custom data fields and import and export data in .csv and other formats
  • Research and compile historical employee information; compile, summarize, and analyze data or information
  • Ensure compliance posters remain current at all firm locations
  • Audit internal documents for compliance, such as new hire I-9s
  • Maintain team compliance and activity calendars
  • Document processes and ensure all responsibilities are completed timely, accurately, and according to established processes
  • Perform administrative functions such as electronic file maintenance and other administrative or project tasks
  • Participate in larger department projects or assist others on team as needed
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years of experience working in either a human resources or payroll team not solely as an individual contributor but in a team of colleagues
  • Minimum two years of hands-on experience with one or more HR or payroll database systems, such as an HRIS, ATS, LMS, including independently creating reports; experience importing and exporting data is desired
  • Hands-on experience compiling and manipulating large amounts of data in Excel using intermediate functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • Impeccable attention to detail and effective self-auditing techniques
  • Strong initiative and follow-through but with the judgment to know when to seek guidance or elevate an issue
  • Sense of urgency with ability to execute in short time frames when needed
  • Willingness and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Problem solving orientation including the ability to succinctly research and summarize the problem before elevating to the appropriate individual
  • Comfort with and ability to professionally interact and collaborate with colleagues at all levels and with varying interpersonal styles
  • Ability to embrace and enjoy working in a high performing team centered environment
  • Ability to master new processes, systems, software, and knowledge quickly
  • Articulate communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Flexible, comfortable with change, orientation towards flawless customer service and seeing a project through to completion
  • Demonstrated organizational, prioritization and planning skills
  • Intermediate MS Excel, Outlook and Word proficiency
