The Lawyer Recruiting Support Specialist is a new position that will work alongside the Lawyer Recruiting Manager in all stages of the firm-wide lawyer recruiting processes to ensure high quality outcomes, efficient processes and the hiring of top-notch attorneys to our firm.  This exempt level position reports to the Lawyer Recruiting Manager within the larger human resources umbrella.  Our HR team is proud to be a high-performance, supportive and congenial group of professionals all working together in support of the firm’s goals and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
This position will be assigned independent responsibility for specific activities within each of the firm’s three primary lawyer recruiting programs: on-campus recruiting, summer associate internships, and lateral (experienced) lawyer recruiting.  Specific activities will include:
  • Preparation and organization of candidate materials, evaluations, and reports
  • Collection and preparation of reports and materials for management and committees
  • Maintenance of all information and reporting in the applicant tracking system (ATS) in a manner consistent with federal contractor and firm requirements
  • Communicate with candidates and recruiters regarding application status
  • Respond or outreach to attorneys, candidates, committees, and firm management regarding program activities or candidates
  • Recommend and manage the logistics for firm lawyer recruitment and summer associate activities and meetings
  • Conduct first level screening of resumes and summarize qualifications for the Lawyer Recruiting Manager
  • Draft and post job announcements; may conduct preliminary sourcing of prospective candidates
  • Handle logistics and materials for interviews, conflict screens, and references
  • Timely submission of participation and event materials
  • Draft candidate correspondence, offer letters, response letters, and other materials
  • Document processes and ensure all responsibilities are completed timely, accurately, and according to established processes
  • Track expenditures against departmental budget; assist with preparation of annual budget
  • As lawyer recruiting is a team of two professionals, this position is also responsible for all administrative and clerical processes to support these programs and the Lawyer Recruiting Manager
  • Participate in larger department projects or assist others on team as needed
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • At least three years working as a member of a corporate recruiting team, including resume review and candidate interaction; legal or professional services industry experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or additional years of relevant work experience in a professional business environment
  • Hands on experience with one or more application tracking systems, including reporting
  • Working knowledge of recruiting best practices and compliance considerations
  • Willingness and ability to work longer hours outside normal office hours when needed to get the job done; availability for occasional overnight travel(1-4 times a year)
  • Willingness and ability to limit the amount of time off taken during the programs’ peak periods (April – September)
  • Comfort and ability to professionally interact and collaborate with colleagues at all levels and with varying interpersonal styles
  • Flexible, comfortable with change, orientation towards flawless customer service and seeing a project through to completion
  • Demonstrated organizational, prioritization and planning skills with tight attention to detail
  • Strong reasoning ability to solve problems or overcome unexpected situations
  • Comfortable working under pressure or in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate MS Word, Outlook, and Excel skills, including working with large amounts of data and files
  • Articulate, professional, and grammatically-correct verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to master new processes, systems, software, and knowledge quickly
